Wellness Belongs on Your Salon's Growth Plan

The wellness industry is projected to hit $9.8 trillion by 2029 — and this time, salons are counted as part of that number, not standing next to it. (Source: Salon Today)

If you're a salon owner, read that again. Trillion. With a T. And your business is already in the room.

Your clients are already asking

Your clients bring up their skin, their energy, their weight, their sleep, their hormones — in your chair. They trust you, sometimes more than the providers they see once a year, because you're the one they actually talk to.

Right now, most owners smile, sympathize… and send that money out the door.

The low-lift way in

You don't need to rebuild your business. The easiest entry point is the shelves you already own — retail — and topical peptides are a current opening worth a serious look.

Beyond retail, there's the education lane: connecting clients with telehealth providers for things like peptides and HRT support. That's the lane I added in my own salon — I partnered with EllieMD, and their licensed medical providers handle all the medical side. I educate and connect. (This isn't medical advice; anything prescription-based requires their medical review.)

What the first 30 days actually look like

Week one, you learn the basics — enough to answer the questions clients are already asking. Week two, you put a few retail pieces on the shelf and mention them the way you'd mention any product you love. Weeks three and four, you start connecting curious clients with the telehealth provider and watching what comes back.

No new hire. No remodel. No second location. You're working the trust you've already built.

Why this matters for your numbers

Here's what I tell my coaching clients: a new revenue stream doesn't have to mean new hours. Wellness works because the conversations are already happening in your chair — you're just finally getting paid for the guidance you used to give away free.

The $9.8 trillion says wellness belongs on your growth plan. The only question is whether your piece of it goes through your front door or someone else's.

Quick answers to what you're thinking

Do I need a medical license? No. The telehealth company's licensed providers handle everything medical. Your role is education and connection.

How much time does this really take? It fits around your chair, not on top of it. Retail is stocking a shelf; the education lane lives inside conversations you're already having.

What if my clients aren't "wellness people"? If they've ever asked you about their skin, their energy, or their weight — they're wellness people. They just haven't had anyone to ask until you.
